Fund & Investment Licensing

A regulated business
needs a joined-up plan.

The strategy, target investors, management activities and intended jurisdiction shape the regulatory route. These decisions need to be considered together before an application is prepared.

We coordinate the planning and application work with the relevant legal, regulatory and other specialists. The regulator determines the permissions and approval conditions that apply.

Find the right regulatory route

Match the activity to the authority.

Fund management, investment services and virtual-asset activities require different permissions. We help define the proposed activity and coordinate the appropriate application workstream.

The responsible authority and permissions depend on the activity and jurisdiction. Incorporation and regulatory authorisation are distinct stages; approval is determined by the relevant authority.

A useful starting point

Before the application,
define the proposition.

  1. The investment strategy and intended management activities.
  2. The target investor base and preferred jurisdiction.
  3. The proposed team, service providers and launch priorities.

Your questions, considered

A little clarity.
Before we begin.

Ask us something else
Do the manager and the fund need separate consideration?

Yes. The permissions for the manager and the requirements for a fund or other vehicle are related but distinct parts of the regulatory assessment.

Can you promise a licensing date?

No. Timing depends on the route, application readiness, regulator queries and any approval conditions. The work plan should reflect those dependencies.

Is incorporation enough to begin regulated activity?

No. An entity must have the required permissions before it carries on an activity that needs regulatory approval. The proposed activities should be assessed at the outset.
